What’s better, Amazon Prime Video or Netflix?

Amazon has given various hit shows to their users such as The Man in the High Castle, Goliath or The Grand Tour while on the other hand, Netflix also gave hit shows like House of Cards, Stranger Things and Sacred Games which created a huge fanbase.

It can all seem a bit confusing at first, so here’s a breakdown of the Amazon Prime Video subscriptions:

Subscription options – Netflix

Netflix splits its subscription options into three options: basic, standard, and premium. The basic service costs £5.99 a month, which only allows for a single standard definition (SD) stream. We wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless money is very tight.

A far better starting point is the £7.99 standard tier, which enables HD streaming and the use of two screens simultaneously – no 4K, though.

There’s also an £9.99 ‘premium’ tier, which enables four simultaneous streams using the same account, plus access to 4K definition on a steadily-growing range of titles. Of course, you’ll need a compatible 4K TV to use the latter.

None of these plans comes with any extra commitment – you can cancel at any time.

Netflix and Amazon Prime: Subscription price in India

Talking about the pricing for both subscriptions, it may vary from one another and have a huge difference. If comparing these two in terms of pricing then Amazon Prime is way cheaper than Netflix. In India the price for Amazon Prime subscription costs Rs 999 annually and Rs 129 per month. Talking about Netflix, the monthly plan offered by Netflix which is low-priced, starts at Rs 500 and goes up to Rs 800. Also, in India various offers are provided to post-paid mobile plan due to which sometimes Amazon Prime is also provided free for a year.

But this is 21st century where people don’t prefer price over quality, everyone will prefer best quality no matter how expensive the ting is. Same as here in video streaming, users want better content, story, quality etc. which can entertain them instead of disappointing them. I personally prefer Netflix because of many reasons and here is the list of them to tell you why even after high rates, Netflix is better choice, so let’s have a look

Netflix have more originals

Meanwhile, both Netflix and Amazon have their own original shows which are limited to them and their users only. But talking about the volume of the original shows, Netflix has far more originals than Prime. Netflix users have varieties of options regarding its originals too such as Drama, comedy, romantic etc.

Various best International content

As compared to Amazon Prime Netflix have various international shows are even better than Prime because of its more entertaining content. It involves various international shows from various countries such as Turkey, China, Pakistan etc. as well as these shows come along with subtitles.

Better options for Netflix Profiles

Profiles allow other members to have their own personalized Netflix experience and can have up to five individual profiles within a single Netflix account. Amazon Prime also provides this facility too but what’s the main difference is which makes Netflix better in terms of Profiles is that, it allows members to make their own profiles individually and they can watch their favourite shows without any disturbance. But this is not in the case of Amazon Prime as if one of the members who are watching the show together, wants to start over again then all the members have to watch it again.

Netflix is more visually appealing

As compared with visual appeal, Netflix is more appealing than Prime in terms of larger icons with sharp colours. Not only visual appeal but also the streaming quality of videos on Netflix looks better than Prime. Although this might differ from person to person as everyone have different taste and have their own preferences.
