Yamaha YZF-R3 recalls 1155 Units in India Over Faulty Tank Brackets

Japanese Motorbike company – Yamaha is going to recall the YZF- R3 sports bike in India after successfully recalled from the USA. As per the reports that there are 1155 units of Yamaha YZF – R3 for a defect fix in the fuel tank bracket as well as the main switch sub-assembling. These default models were manufactured in the years 2015 and 2016. The Yamaha R3 was launched in the month of August 2015 in India.

Yamaha Company, in a statement, said that YZF-R3 is an exceptional performer and has been very successful on the Indian roads. The parent company Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. Japan recently has detected a defect in its Fuel Tank Bracket and Main Switch Sub-Assy. After detecting the default, the company decided to recall the bikes. This will affect 1,155 vehicles in India. The company will repair the default bikes free of cost. The company Yamaha will contact the default models’ respective Yamaha R3 owners. The owners of the bike can also check by entering the frame or Chassis number in the given fields on the official website of the company.

Features of Yamaha YZF – R3:  The Yamaha YZF- R3 sports bike runs on a twin- cylinder, liquid cooled engine that generates power of 41.4 bhp at 10,750rpm and 29.6Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. The engine of the bike is 321cc. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission. The India Sale YZF-R3 units are known as CKD (Completely Knocked Down) and are from the manufacturing plant located in Indonesia. The length measurement of Yamaha Bike model YZF-R3 is 2090mm and width are 720mm. The wheelbase of the bike is 1380mm and 1135mm tall. The capacity of the fuel tank is 14 litres. The sports bike comes with a ground clearance of 160mm.

The Japanese company recalled 902 R3 sports bike units in India in the last year in the month of June due to the clutch pressure plate and oil pump function defects.
