ACB asks former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit To Join probe in Water Meter Scam Case

Anti-Corruption Branch(ACB) of Delhi issue a notice to former Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit today. ACB sent a notice to asking her to join investigation in connection  of water meter scam case. The four cases were registered in the alleged water meter scam.

AAP Government registered these Four FIRs against former CM Shiela Dikshit when AAP ruled Delhi for 49-day in 2014.  The AAP-led government had directed ACB to register FIRs in these cases of alleged irregularities in DJB. The loss in this allegedly case was Rs 341 crore to the state exchequer.

According the sources of ACB officials, two summons were sent to Shiela Dikshit. In one notice, the ACB asked her to join investigation and in the second, the agency asked her to inform the agency about convenient time and place for the questioning to take place.

MK Meena who is Chief of ACB in Delhi confirmed that the notices have been sent to Dikshit. But Mr. Meena refused to reveals further details.

The Kejriwal’s government had ordered to ACB to enquiry into the irregularities in allotting work to a private company at DJB’s Bhagirathi water treatment plant in North-East Delhi. This allegedly resulted in a loss of Rs 158 crore to the Delhi Government.

The another case belonged to alleged financial irregularities in the purchase of four lakh Automatic meter reader(AMR) and non-Automatic Meter Reader water meters with a intention to favour a particular company. This resulted in a loss of around Rs 150 crore to the Delhi Government.

It was alleged that 3.5 lakh non-AMR water meters were purchased through a single tender. This has done because to benefit a particular private company. In this an approximate loss of Rs 33 crore to the state exchequer.
