NDA Government Clears 7th Pay Commission: High Salaries, Pension Hike Allowances

Today, Central Government’s cabinet cleared the 7th Pay Commission recommendation. It will result in about 23.55% overall increase in salaries, allowances and pension. This is very good news for all the government employees and pensioners.

In January 2016, the Central Government had set up a panel which is headed by the cabinet secretary PK Sinha to process the recommendation of 7th Pay commission.

The Recommendation of 7th Pay Commission:

The 7th Pay Commission recommended 23.55 percent overall increase in salaries, allowances and pension. The 7th Pay Commission is going to put an extra burden of Rs 1.02 lakh crore which is nearly 0.7 percent of the GDP on the central government of India.

It recommended that the minimum pay in government to be set at Rs 18,000 per month. This is more than double the present Rs 7,000.

The maximum pay  in 7th Pay Commission is set at Rs 2,25,000 per month for apex scale and Rs 2,50,000 per month for cabinet secretary and others at the same pay level (as against the current Rs 90,000 per month).

After implementing the 7th Pay Commission, the total financial impact of Rs 1,02,100 crore, the increase in pay would be Rs 39,100 crore, increase in allowances Rs 29,300 crore and increase in pension Rs 33,700 crore.

Also, Rs 73,650 crore of the outgo will be borne by the general budget and Rs 28,450 crore by the Railway Budget.

The Finance Minister Arun Jaitely congratulates the central government officers, employees and pensioners on a historic rise in their salary and allowances through the 7th Pay Commission.

Shahnawaz Hussain also tweets on the clearance of 7th Pay commission. He tweets that cabinet clears final payout based on the recommendation of 7th Pay Commission and government employees to get 23% plus increment in salary.

The 7th Pay Commission implemented from 1st January 2016.

All the government employees may get this increased salary from the month of July 2016 and get arear from 1st January 2016. The 7th Pay Commission will boost the life of government employee and pensioners.

Central Government’s employees and pensioners will soon get the benefits of 7th Pay Commission. Total number of central government’s employees are 50 lakhs and number of pensioners are 58 lakhs.
