RIP! Babri Masjid Case main plaintiff Hashim Ansari Passes Away at 96

The oldest litigant in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case, Hashim Ansari passed away in Ayodhya after prolonged illness on Wednesday morning.

Hashim Ansari has been fighting Babri Masjid case in favour of the Babri mosque since 1949. He was suffering from some serious illness from many years.

Hashim Ansari opposed to demolition of the disputed structure of babri Masjid in Ayodhya by ‘Hindu Kar Sevaks’ on December 6, 1992.  The house of Ansari was also gutted in the riots that followed the demolition.

Ansari’s friendship with other Hindu litigants in the case – Ram Keval Das and Ram Chandra Paramhans of the Digambar Akhada, was very strong despite sharp difference of opinions.

He had recently slammed Azam Khan who is Uttar Pradesh Minority Affairs Minister accusing him of cheating Muslims.

He was in favour of Ram mandir in Ayodhya. When Modi came into power, He said that after freedom, India got the strongest leader as Modi. He said that all Muslim of India should stand with Modi.
