In the U.S. Olympic swimming trials which are held on Wednesday in which a 15-year-old Katie Grimes grabs the third position in the 1,500-meter freestyle race and the difference between the third and second position is just a few milliseconds. Also, the distinction between the first and second place is just a few seconds. The first place of the race was earned by Katie Ledecky and after seeing the timing difference of her with Katie she just beamed and praised her for her effort and hard work which she did in the race and tells her that “You’re the future“. After listening to these words from the greatest female swimmer, Katie gets melted and feels proud. After two days, Ledecky glanced up at a score table in Omaha, Nebraska where she gained the 800 at trials and she glared into the enlightenment for the title of the teammate who will be accompanying her to the Olympics.
Katie Grimes, who earned the eighth position in the prelims after defeating her personal ablest time by about six seconds, severed extra 11 seconds off it in the closing to grab in second place which is 0.15 seconds leading of Olympic experienced Haley Anderson which secured the third place. Katie Ledecky raced over alley paths to her and Grimes was overwhelmed with a heartfelt blend of fatigue, scepticism and delight, then, Ledecky took her hand and raised it in the sky by telling her that “You’re the now”.
After achieving this, Grimes became the most youthful American swimmer to grab the opportunity to play in the Olympics & as Ledecky walked to an NBC receiver for a post-race conference, Grimes stampede for her parents. Ledecky said Michele Tafoya who is from NBC to let Grimes enjoy the time and then the parents of Grime dragged her from the front line and hugged her tightly and then her mom tells her that she is so proud of her.
Later, when NBC requested Grimes to explain her sentiments then she replied that she doesn’t even know and she was just speechless. At the conference, she was sitting just next to Ledecky where she said that she used to believe it was great we had the identical first name and from now, we are a team. Talking about the race then, Katie Ledecky earned first place by completing the race in just 8:14:02 time while Katie Grimes grabs second place by completing it in 8:20:36 time and at the third position, Anderson Haley stays with completing the race in just 8:20:51 time.
