Ajit Jogi’s Son Arrested For Forgery Case

To be more precised, he has been accused of giving incorrect information about his birthplace on his election affidavit.

The arrest has been held after a complaint was lodged by a BJP leader, Sameera Paikra, who contested against him in the year 2013 from the Marwahi assembly seat in Chhattisgarh and lost as the result was out. Amit Jogi had defeated Paikra in the 2013 Assembly elections.

At present, Amit Jogi, 42, is now going to be produced before a court and as per the orders of the court and the actions are going to be taken accordingly, said Bilaspur SP Sanjay Kumar Dhruv.

Ms Paikra reached the High Court claiming that Mr Jogi had lied about his caste as well as date of birth. Previous week, the court scrapped the petition stating that the term of that assembly had concluded. The BJP leader then went to the police as well as filed a fresh complaint.

She alleged that Mr Jogi had falsely stated his year as 1978 as well as place of birth as Sarbehera Gaurela village in Chhattisgarh, when in fact, he was born in the year 1977 in Texas.

Mr Jogi is now going to be produced in a court, police said. Senior police officer Sanjay Kumar Dhruv was quoted as saying by news agency ANI, “Amit Jogi will be produced before a court and as per the orders of the court, action will be taken. He has been accused of giving wrong information in his election affidavit about his birthplace,”
