Android operators are leaving their old phones for the new iPhones

In recent time, Apple has created a lot of buzz after launching its three new iPhones series such as iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, previously this year. After the months of the launch its budget iPhone, named iPhone XR-became the best-seller of the iPhone company this year. And with its raising popularity, it is claimed by the new reports, which suggests that the phone facilitated Apple to tally more Android users than ever before.

Highlights:

  • More than 15 per cent Android users swapped to a new iPhone this year.
  • In 2017, only 11 percent Android users swapped to iPhone
  • In US only, iPhone XR recorded 32 per cent of the Apple’s total iPhone sales.

Mike Levin, CIRP Partner and Co-Founder said “It appears that iPhone XR did serve to attract current Android users. Of course, Apple doesn’t just state plainly its launch strategy. But, based on the pricing and features, we can infer that Apple positioned the iPhone XR to appeal to potential operating systems switchers from Android”.

The analysis was lead in the United States by the Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) states that as compared to this year from past 2 years, more smartphone operators swapped from Android network to the iOS. Their statistics displayed that approximately 16 per cent Android operators decided to shift to a new iPhone subsequent the release of iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Only 11 per cent Android smartphone operators took the jump last year subsequent the launch of iPhone X and merely 12 per cent people swapped to iOS subsequent the launch of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus the year earlier that.

However, the analysis pointed out to a descending tendency in terms of the users upgrading their old iPhones for the latest one. Though, this year the fraction was 82 per cent but last year it raised much greater at 86 per cent as well as 87 per cent at the time of iPhone 8 launch.

This indicates the good as well as the bad news for Apple. Whereas not as much of number of current iPhone operators are upgrading their iPhones, the enterprise’s restored iPhone line along with its reasonable pricing approach is appealing to more and more Android operators every year.

Remarkably, the analysis revealed that the new iPhone XR in the 30-day period accounted for 32 per cent of the business overall iPhone trade in the US subsequent the launch of the three new iPhone in October 2018. On the other hand, together the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max accounted for 35 per cent of the iPhone trade in the country throughout the equal time.

The statistics display that iPhone XR is noticeably one of the most popular iPhone than the three iPhones. The company’s policy of introducing an inexpensive iPhone with a similar presentation constraint is visibly working.
