Uttarakhand Minister Arvind Pandey’s Son Killed in Car-Truck Collision

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member and Uttarakhand Education Minister Arvind Pandey’s son Ankur Pandey died in a car crash on NH 24 near Faridpur in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, Ankur was traveling to Gorakhpur to attend a friend’s wedding when the incident took place at around 3 am on Wednesday, June 26. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The car in which Ankur was travelling, collided with a truck, killing him. Another person, a Gorakhpur resident and a relative of Ankur’s friend, was also killed while another acquaintance was grievously injured in the mishap.

Circle Officer (CO) of Fareedpur, Ramanand Rai said, “The accident occurred on National Highway 24. The car in which Arvind and his friends were travelling collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction.”

Villagers informed police about the accident. A team of local police reached the spot and took the injured to hospital. Arvind and Munna Giri, police said, were killed on the spot.

Arvind Pandey is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and is a Minister for School & Sanskrit Education, Sports, Youth Welfare & Panchayati Raj in Government of Uttarakhand.

In a similar incident on June 25, a 32-year-old man riding on a motorcycle was killed and four others injured in a collision with a car in Greater Noida.
