A popular Bangladeshi movie actress who is well-known by her stage name Pori Moni has alleged a businessman for an attempted rape on her few days back. In order to seek justice, Shamsunnahar Smriti (Porimoni) took to her Facebook handle and requested the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, for help. In her Facebook post, she alleged that a businessman attempted to rape her at a club in Dhaka’s Uttara. She also stated in the post that the alleged accuser not only assaulted her but also tried to murder her.
Though, she didn’t revealed the name of the alleged accuser in the Facebook post but soon she held a media briefing on Sunday where she revealed his name along with the details telling what happened that night. She revealed that the incident happened four days back at a club in Dhaka’s Uttara.
The 28-year-old actress accused a businessman named Nasir U Mahmood who is Dhaka Boat’s Club founding member, as per to bdnews24 report. Along with being the entertainment and cultural affairs secretary of his club, Nasir is also involved in a real estate business.
As per to the news website, Nasir could not be reached at present for the comments on Porimoni’s claims. In the meantime, the assistant IGP in Bangladesh, Sohel Rana, stated that the police are strictly going to take the action in this case when the actress will contact them to conduct the investigation.
