Few days before, the Supreme Court ordered the constitution of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in order to look into the allegations, after which the law student took this move. SIT has been constituted by the UP government on the direction of the Supreme Court.

Also, on Saturday, regarding the allegations, the Special Investigation Team, which has been headed by IG Naveen Arora, visited Chinmayanand’s residence, ashram and the college that is run by him.

Previously, on August 27, the father of the girl had lodged a complaint with the Shahjahanpur police accusing Chinmayanand of sexually harassing his daughter. On the other hand, the BJP leader’s lawyer disproved all the charges and claimed that it was a “conspiracy” in order to blackmail him.

The victim was a law student from Swami Shukdevanand Post Graduate College which has been run by Chinmayanand in Shahjahanpur, located in Uttar Pradesh.

After charging the allegations against Chinmayanand in a video, she then went missing but was then later found in Rajasthan by Uttar Pradesh police.

The father of the woman at that time too had alleged that the 72-year-old BJP leader was behind his disappearance of daughter. The woman on other hand had also spoken about the danger to her and her family’s life in the video clip.

While the visit of SIT at Chinmayanand’s residence, ashram and the college, the team also visited the Mukukshu Ashram of the BJP leader and explored the five colleges that have been run by the ashram, Principal Avnish Misra told PTI.

The team also visited the college hostel where the room of the law student has been sealed already, he said.

A woman IPS officer also spoke to the teachers as well as girl students of the college and took some inputs from them, Misra said.

“Later, the team visited Divya Dham of Swami Chinmyanad but could not meet him as he is out of station,” Misra said .

The Supreme Court on the other hand had said that the woman had raised certain complaints against the institution where she studied and her mother as well as father had some worries regarding the safety of their children.
