Cyclone Nivar Likely to Hit Coast of Andhra Pradesh on November 25th

Another big breaking news comes from the city of Chennai where the city has to experience heavier rain which is named as Cyclone Nivar and the cyclone is supposed to landfall between Mamallapuram and Karaikal on mid of upcoming Wednesday. The size of rainfall is assumed to be of 6cm-10cm. The weather disturbance starts from Monday in which cloudy with a light drizzle happened and the rainfall will be started from Tuesday because the cyclone hits the coast closer on that day. The cities which are affected form this cyclone are Villupuram, Cuddalore, Puducherry, and Chennai in these areas heavy rain is expected.

As per the statement of S Balachandran who is the deputy director-general of the regional meteorological center, Chennai said that  “Rain will start in coastal districts on Monday and will intensify step by step. On Tuesday and Wednesday, some areas on the coast will receive heavy rain and very heavy rain. Fishermen should not venture into the sea till November 25.” In adding to this, he said that a chance of heavy rain will start from Tuesday.

The cyclone is located 760km away from Chennai and 700km from Karaikal. Now, the clone hitting the coast of Sri Lanka and it will move towards the northwest to hit the coast of Tamil Nadu. The name of the cyclone is given by Iran because the cyclone is moving at a good speed. The low pressure of cyclone increases their sped very fastly and in just 12 hours it will reach the coast instead of 24 hours as discussed earlier.

The thunderstorm in the sea is measured as 0.46inch and if we see the weather of Sunday then it was hot and rainless across the state. The cyclone comes with heavy rainfall which deficit the city is facing this northeast monsoon. The previous records stated that from 1st October the Chennai state received 477.4mm rainfall but this time it is expected to 539mm, leaving an 11% deficit. Tamil Nadu has a 23% deficit with 242.6mm rainfall recorded so far against a normal 31.1mm. Stay tuned with us.
