Delhi Scrapping of Vehicles Rules 2018: Seized Vehicles will not be returned

Well, you all should know that the Delhi transport department has announced with the new update that the vehicles seized during the drive will not be returned to owners, as per the new ‘Delhi Scrapping of Vehicles Rules, 2018’ notified last month. Sources are confirming that the Delhi transport department will start a drive from Monday to confiscate. In this section, all the deregistered and scrap diesel vehicles that are more than 15 years old will come.

As you all may know that the Delhi’s air quality is below than average and the government is trying to apply all the formulas to make it clear. The government is saying that this rule is important for the people who are living in Delhi. Also, the updates are coming that this rule will change a big in this big pollution game. As you all may know that increased traffic is the main reason of pollution in Delhi.

Also, the transport office said,  “The vehicles will be handed over to state-run MSTC Limited for scrapping. Delhi Police is also being asked to impound such vehicles if found plying on roads. Besides, enforcement teams of municipal corporations and the transport department will also be imposing fines and impounding such vehicles.”

If we look forward into the Delhi government’s data then we can say that it shows that 223,000 diesel vehicles were deregistered since January 2016 in compliance with a National Green Tribunal order that diesel vehicles older than 15 years should not ply on Delhi’s roads and must not be parked in public spaces. Also, the government will seize the entire vehicle which will come under this section.
