Kang Daniel and TWICE singer Jihyo have reportedly been dating: According to South Korean news agency Dispatch, the South Korean girl group TWICE member Jihyo and K-Pop star Kang Daniel have been dating since the beginning of the year but have been incredibly secretive about it. According to a source close to both artists, the duo met through another musician in the K-pop industry. According to the source and as translated by Soompi, “A sunbae [Korean for a senior in an organisation or industry] close to Kang Daniel and Jihyo introduced them.”
On August 1, the couple was spotted on a date in Seoul’s Hannam neighbourhood. Jihyo reportedly drove to Kang’s highly secured residence. Dispatch had photos of Jihyo arriving at Kang’s home in her white Mercedes while wearing a white surgical mask in order to hide her identity. The couple reportedly had met at Kang’s home and spent their time together in UN Village, a gated community within the district.
Reportedly, it also appears that Park’s girl group, TWICE, are aware of her relationship with Kang. The Dispatch report also revealed that an unnamed member of the group had chauffeured Park to one of her dates with Kang, returning later in the day to pick her up.
Meanwhile, Park and Kang’s respective labels viz. JYP Entertainment and Konnect Entertainment, have since confirmed the relationship and announced that the couple “have good feelings towards each other”.
Fans took to Twitter to share their feeling about this relationship. One user wrote, “2019 is the year of popular K-pop idols dating, let’s give our fullest support to Jihyo and Kang Daniel. We can’t lose another couple like JenKai. LET’S PROTECT THEM. #KangDaniel #JIHY” while another fan tweeted “When u thought JenKai was already the most powerful couple, then Kang Daniel & Jihyo, legends, drop the bomb.”
On the work front, Kang recently made his solo debut with the ‘Color on Me’ EP, which was released on July 25. On the other hand, Park is currently on tour with TWICE, who are scheduled to perform on August 17 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
