I started watching the new Netflix series “Hasmukh” hoping that it will be the next game-changer in the Indian web series era. Well, my expectations died while I was just going through the first episode because from the first scene something was off. In short, you can say that “Hasmukh” was a weak attempt or a silly try by the writers as well as by the director Nikhil Gonsalves. It is so weak that we can’t even compare it with other Netflix releases of the year.
The story of the show is about a comedian “Hasmukh” who is from Saharanpur. He kills people to get the “feeling” to perform on the stages and his manager supports him in this whole thing. Now, he gets a big a show on TV from film city Mumbai but things don’t go as he plans and what happens next is the mystery you wouldn’t want to know.
Vir Das’s (Hasmukh) Review
First this first, the character “Hasmukh” is played by the actor Vir Das who is a good comedian. You all must know that he is quite famous for his comedy while as an actor he has struggled and this series will be another failure for him. Now, if we talk about his character then we can say that it was written in a very bad way. You will never connect with him. The makers have tried to narrate the story from Hasmukh’s perspective but the thing is we don’t even care about Hasmukh while watching the series.
Other Actors-
Ranvir Shorey is playing the character of Hasmukh’s Manager, a person who is wanna be motivational or robin for Hasmukh in his crimes. Well, his performance sucks but not because of him but because of the silly writer who has done nothing in the series.
Other actors-
Some other actors are there and they are doing things, following orders. Some of them are goons and don’t know why they are in the series, Police as usual shown corrupt and as usual, one honest officer there to follow Hasmukh’s case. Yes! Ravi Kishen is also there but his character in the series has no base. So overall we can say that the characters of this series are boneless and they don’t make any sense.
Why Hasmukh Failed?
Okay! Hasmukh is a black comedy thriller show, right? Now, the comedy part f the show is quite boring. You would want to skip the “Stand Up” parts in the series. Even the jokes are so mean that nobody in this world will laugh at them. I think somebody who has a bad sense of humour has tried to come up with the jokes and dialogues of this series.
When it comes to emotions the series shows no connection with anything. You won’t know why Hasmukh was so passionate about the killing and you won’t know how he lived his life before killing. Even the show starts with a killing which was so soon and the way Hasmukh execute it was emotionless for the viewers.
How to Watch Hasmukh Online On Netflix?
In the end, Hasmukh was failed because the writers have done a lousy job from start to end. I don’t know why the makers even continued with the series after reading those silly jokes. Also, all the actors in this series are free and they don’t have big projects so they can whatever they get but still the Netflix’s Hasmukh is a big failure and my review is, “DON’T WATCH IT”.
