On 19th March 2021, an incredibly hard-hitting emotional drama film of Tamil, named, “Thaen” made its theatrical release and successfully touched the heartstrings of many. Though at the first look, the film looks like another family drama movie, what makes this film different from others is the fact that it showcases the true reality that lies in front of us, however, not many of us are brave enough to accept it and most of us likes to turn a blind eye to it. This film received critical acclaims from the fans as well as from the critics and also got a total of 40 nominations.
The movie, “Thaen” is created and directed under the direction of Ganesh Vinayakan, meanwhile, the storyline and the screenplay is written by Ganesh Vinayakan. Raasi Thangadurai has written the dialogues, while the film is produced by Ambalavanan. B and Prema. P. Moreover, the principal cinematography is done by M.Sukumar with the edition help of Lawerence Kishore. After making a theatrical release, the film is all set to make its digital appearance on the famous OTT platform of SonyLIV on 25th June 2021.
Thaen Movie Plot
The movie follows the life story of an illiterate young agricultural beekeeper, named, Velu, who was living a blissful and content life with her beloved wife, Poogodi and an adorable daughter. However, his life takes a major turn, when day his wife fainted while working on their small farm. The couple used to live in an extremely remote village on a hillside and lacks numerous basic facilities, including, transportation and medical assistance.
Velu somehow managed to take his unconscious wife to a hospital and later got to know that Poongadi has a serious terminal disease and for that she needs urgent treatment. However, he was denied access to good healthcare treatment by the doctor when the former could not provide a medical card under the government insurance scheme. He runs from one government body to another in order to get the medical card, however, he became the victim of bureaucratic inefficient and not to mention the victim of two-legged animals.
