The much-awaited movie of Kannada titled, “Yuvarathnaa” has already released theatrically on 1st April 2021. The movie features, Puneeth Rajkumar in the main lead role as Yuvaraja aka Yuva, along with Prakash Raj as the principal of RK University, Gurudev Deshmukh. The trailer of the movie was released officially on the official youtube channel of Hombale Films on 20th March 2021 and so far, the trailer has crossed more than 9.1 million views, within 1 week and now that the movie has released theatrically, it is highly anticipated that this movie will be a blockbuster. It has been only one day since the movie hit the theatre, but so far, the movie is doing great and the audiences are already loving it.
The movie is directed under the direction of Santhosh Ananddram and also written by him and Vijya Kiragandur has produced the movie under the production banner of Hombale Films. The principal cinematography of the movie is done by Venkatesh Anguraj with the editing help of Jnaanesh B Matad. The film is originally a Kannada film and but is also released in Telugu too, for the Telugu audience.
The storyline of the movie revolves around a government-regulated college named, RK University and that is now about to shut down. The reason behind the shutting of the institute is said to be the privatization of the government education system. The head of the university Gurudev Deshmukh along with other educators and some students, try every means and fight against the system of privatization.
Now, we are going to talk about the first-day box office collection of the movie. The net box office collection of Yuvarathnaa in India is INR 8 Crore. Talking about the first-day occupancy of this movie in Kannada theatres, then the movie occupied 32.66% in the morning shows, while in the afternoon show, the movie occupied 29.88%, meanwhile in the evening shows, 44.76%. While in the Telugu theatres, the movie occupied 7.04% seats in the morning shows, while in the afternoon show the movie occupied 11.34%, and in the evening show the movie occupied 14.23%.
And if talk about the overall occupancy of the movie in the Kannada region-wise, then the movie occupied 34.67% in Bengaluru, while in Mysuru, the movie occupied 84% seats in theatres, in Mumbai the movie occupied 6.67%, Mangaluru occupied 4% seats, in Kalaburagi the movie occupied 17% seats, while in Belagavi it occupied 26.33%, while in Hubballi 35.33% seats and in Davanagere the movie is 33.33%. Earlier, the movie was set to realise on 7th October 2019, but due to the pandemic, the release of the film halted, several times and at last, the movie released this year on 1st April. The movie has got a positive response from the audience as well as from the critics and so far, the movie is doing good and it is expected that in the coming days the movie is going to do well at the box office.
