As we all know that, in the history of Independent India, there wear two ministers who resigned from the post by taking responsibility for the mishap. In this list, the first name was Lal Bahadur Shastri who resigned himself by taking responsibility for the train accident which was happened in Ariyalur, which is in Tamil Nadu in the month of November in the year 1956 and in this, there were around 142 people were killed. The second minister who resigned from his post was Nitish Kumar, 43, after the Gaisal train accident which was happened in Assam in the month of August in the year 1999 which killed around 290 people.

Talking about the whole accident then, the accident took place between two trains in which one train named Awadh-Assam Express which is travelling to Guwahati and in the north-eastern state of the state named Assam and amidst the journey the train crashed with Delhi-bound Brahmaputra Mail and the accident happened at the City named Gaisal which is in West Bengal. Both of the trains carrying around 1,000 passengers. In this accident, there were around 258 passengers got killed while 300 passengers got seriously injured.

The actual and main reason for this accident is stated to be the signals failure or human error and then investigation for the crash is started where it is found that both trains were running at the speed of around 80-90 k.p.h. After the accident, that time Railway Minister named Mr Nitish Kumar sent the resignation to that time prime minister named Mr Atal Behari Vajpayee by taking all the responsibility of the accident.
