As per to a sports marketing expert, the major win of Hideki Matsuyama will now lead him to many profitable endorsement that may possibly be of up to $20 million worth. The expert has suggested that Matsuyama can easily make this amount every year and that too for more than the next three decades.

Bob Dorfman of Baker Street Advertising in a recent statement has told Sportico that winning The Masters is “easily worth $600 million for Matsuyama,” if he don’t go through any serious injury or scandal that may end his career. He further added “Matsuyama will be an icon in his golf-mad country.”

The 29 year Japanese golfer has won the title of ‘The Masters’ in just a single stroke over Will Zalatoris. For this win itself, Matsuyama has earned USD 2.07 million and also became the first golfer from Japan to win this title. He earlier played at the Masters in the year 2011 and back then also he was the first Japanese amateur to join such a big and prestigious golf competition.

In another interview with Sportico, Bill Sanders said that winning ‘The Masters’ “is a game-changer.” Bill Sanders is involved in managing the marketing career of a well-known Chinese basketball star Yao Ming. He further explained that if you look at the long history of Japan dealing with endorsement deals, they have been working with several big Hollywood actors as well as athletes to promote their products. In the U.S., the he upside may possibly be limited to some extent, however “it should be an enormous windfall in Japan,” he added.

Earlier, there were talks that Matsuyama might face issue in the endorsement deals due to his language barrier. However, Sanders has toned down this fact by saying that English actually “doesn’t matter for a full page advertisement in GQ”.

Later in the year 2013, Hideki Matsuyama became a pro in golf competition and has the earnings of USD 33.3 million on the golf course since then. In addition to winning The Masters, Matsuyama is likely to be a part of the Summer Olympics that is scheduled to be held at Tokyo this summer. There is also some anticipation that he might be the one who will be nominated for lighting the Olympic flame.
