Today, the celebrations of Ganesh Chathurthi had come to an end and the idols of lord Ganesha are going to be immersed in water bodies across the country. The immersion of Ganesh idols is tradition followed by Hindus after 11 days celebrations of Ganesh Chathurthi. The immersion is done in major cities across the country like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad.

On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, all the idols from all over the country will get immersed in the water. Another major attraction on the immersion day is Laddu Auction.The most popular Laddu Auction is Balapur laddu which will be quoted in lakhs. The second famous laddu auction is Khairthabad Ganesh Laddu Auction. The Khairthabad Ganesh is the major attraction during Ganesh Chaturthi in Hyderabad. This year the Khairthabad Ganesh blessed the devotees as Shiva Nagalingeshwara Avatar.
The idol immersion in Hyderabad will take place across various waterfronts like Hussain Sagar lake and other lakes on the outskirts like IDL Cheruvu, Hasmathpet Tank, Pragathinagar Tank, Sunnam Cheruvu, Gangaram Cheruvu, Durgam Cheruvu, Pale Cheruvu, Pattikunta and Saroornagar Tank.
Water and Prasad supply facilities are also arranged by the Government and NGO. A huge security arrangements had also been made by the Cyberabad and Hyderabad Police departments with 20,000 police officers from Law and Order, Rapid Action Force, Special Branch, Traffic Wing, Armed Forces and Taskforce.
CCTV Cameras are also been arranged at important points in order to monitor the situation. The roads leading to water tank and other water bodies in the state had been restricted. The state government had declared an official holiday for all schools and colleges in the state.
