A few months ago, the news of pouring nail glue in the eyes is getting viral on the internet where a Michigan woman almost wasted her eye after spilling nail glue rather than eye drops, now, one more similar case is getting the attention of peoples. A Cambridgeshire woman did the same mistake and poured nail glue by thinking that it is hay fever drops, the woman is distinguished as Katie Bath, who is a 35-year-old mother and while watching the television she mistakenly poured the wrong drops into her eyes which results in burning pain. This is not only one case in the UK to have missed the glaringly comparable-looking pitchers of nail adhesive by eye drops. Nail glue comes in popularity since the 1980s and from that time, there are around 36 registered cases of women who falsely applying glue rather than eye drops.
As per the statement of Katie Bath to a well known popular news channel that, the whole incident took place on 16th June 2021 at 4 PM on Wednesday at her residence named The Chatteris, Cambridgeshire where she felt some itchy in her eyes of hay fever by which she decided to pour eye drops in her eyes to get relief from the itching. After that, she couldn’t find the eye drop bottle in her bag then suddenly she looked on the side where she found the same bottle so she grasped the bottle and went to the mirror to pour it in her eyes where she put only 1-2 drops.
After pouring the adhesive, she feels a burn in her eyes and for getting relief from this, she pours 1 more drop in her eyes but she feels more burning in her eyes then she immediately looks at the bottle which is of nail glue. After that, she immediately ran to the kitchen and begun rinsing but her burning did not subside. Then she rushed to her neighbour house for support with her five-year-old daughter named Pippa, then her neighbour took her to the nearest clinic where Dr. said that another case had recently arrived in for sticking their eye sealed.
After getting treatment by the doctors lastly, her eyes got unglued and later, after five hours around 9.30 PM she opened her eyes but she told that she still can’t look clear and feels swollen and painful.
