Odisha: Indian Air Force Plane (IAF) Crashes on Odisha-Jharkhand Border, Pilot is Injured!

Reports are coming that a fighter trainer aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district today and it was a quite big crash. Though the pilot of the plane safely ejected before the crash and he is alright. Even, the reports are coming that the situation is under control and nobody is really hurt.

An Indian Air Force (IAF) Hawk advanced trainer jet crashed Tuesday in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district near the Jharkhand border.

As per the sources reports, this crash took place in Mahultangiri village near Jharpokharia in Mayurbhanj district. Also, the reports are saying that the pilot is alright and local rushed him to Bahadaguda hospital in Jharkhand. Some local said that he had minor injuries in the mishap.

Overall, a source said that the plane crashed at Subarnarekha River’s Topa Ghat and It is suspected that the aircraft took off from Kalaikunda Air Force Station from neighboring West Bengal and some locals at Rairangpur in the district claimed to have spotted smoke coming out of the plane. In the end, it is good that Pilot is safe and fine with little injuries.

“Whether it was some technical or pilot error it is too premature to guess at this point in time. From the wreckage it appears that it was a trainer jet and only after a detailed investigation the exact reason can be ascertained,” said former pilot Atanu Guru. Earlier in 2015, a Hawk A-3492 had also crashed in a paddy field in Mayurbhanj district.
