PM Modi don’t care about ordinary people, says Rahul Gandhi

At last, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi speaks on the decision of demonitisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes. On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi blasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to replace Rs 500 and Rs 1000 banknotes to take on illegal transactions.

In a series of tweets, Rahul Gandhi expressed concern for small traders, housewives, and farmers – the sections that usually keep liquid cash with them for daily expenses.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted that Once again Mr Modi shows how little he cares about ordinary people of this country – housewives, small traders, farmers – all thrown into utter chaos.

The move of Modi is to unearth undisclosed money stashed in the country and check its flow, Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of bringing back black money deposited abroad.

Taking digs at PM modi, he tweeted that while the real culprits sit tight on their black money stashed away abroad or in bullion/ real estate. Well done Mr Modi.

The reaction of Rahul Gandhi comes after his party welcomed any crackdown on corruption and black money but expressed concern over the inconvenience to farmers, rural population and families in the wedding season.

Party Chief Spokesperson – Randeep Surjewala said that Congress has always supported any step against black money and will continue to do so.

Surjewala further said that But he remained critical about the government’s decision to circulate Rs 2,000 notes. Replacing the notes of Rs. 500 and Rs 2000 with larger denominations enable black money hoarders to stash even more money.
