According to the police officials, a man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his room as he was missing his wife stuck at her parents’ place due to the ongoing lockdown imposed by the government to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

The officials informed that the incident took place in Radha Kund locality in Gonda on Wednesday and the deceased has been identified as Rakesh Soni, aged 32.
Inspector Alok Rao said, “According to the information, Soni’s wife had gone to her parents’ place and was stuck there due to the ongoing 21-days lockdown. He was missing her badly due to which he committed suicide.”
He further said that investigation regarding the same is underway.
