After the fall of Kabul, we all are aware of the current condition in Afghanistan and not to mention how two weeks ago, 15th August 2021 to be precise, the capital of Afghan, Kabul was forcefully captured by the Taliban forces. The same day, the incumbent president of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani fled the country like a coward and incompetent leader and left the public under the torturous treatment of the Taliban leader and its forces. A small protest in Afghanistan has turned out big and civilians were seen coming out from their houses to fight for their rights, however, amid all this, the Taliban are using violence against the innocent to suppress their protest.
Who is Khalil Haqqani?
Now the politics, as well as the administration of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, is also in the hand of the Taliban and now with newly released information, it has been reported that Khalil Haqqani is the new chosen security in charge of Kabul. The new security representative of Kabul, Haqqani is reported to have a close connection with Al-Qaeda, a multinational organization of Islamic allies. He had been a former partner of the Central Intelligence Agency and is also regarded as one of the close members of Pakistani Intelligence, ISI.
Born on 1st January 1966 in the Paktia provinces of Afghanistan, Khalil Haqqani is known as the leader of the designated terrorist group named, “Haqqani Network”. This network has an association with Al-Qaeda as well as with the Taliban. He has been nominated under the most wanted terrorist category and was in fact termed as a specially designated global terrorist by the United States on 9th February 2011.
United Nations too on the same day, stated Haqqani as one of the most wanted revolutionaries who has close association with the terrorist groups including with Usama Bin Laden. He had been alleged for funding, planning, preparing, promoting, and committing acts of activities on the behalf of the terrorist group such as for Taliban and Al-Qaida.
He has been a constant fundraiser for the Taliban and is regarded as one of the foremost men in executing and openly supporting the operations of the Taliban in Afghanistan. He has also reported having helped to reinforce the Al-Qaida in the Paktia province of Afghan by deploying more men under his charge. From 2002 to till now, he has performed and carried out several orders provided by the Haqqani network as well as by the Taliban. After being in charge of security for Kabul, Khalil Haqqani is now an untamed horse who could be seen roaming around the streets of Kabul.
