Who Is Noor Mukadam? Former Pakistani Diplomat’s Daughter Murdered in Islamabad

Followed by a severe diplomatic dispute that burst out between Afghanistan and Pakistan over the alleged kidnapping of the daughter of the Afghanistan Ambassador, the daughter of the former diplomat of Pakistan named Noor Mukadam, 27, was brutally murdered on Tuesday, 20th July 2021 in Islamabad, capital of Pakistan. Her lifeless body was later recovered by the police officials in the exclusive capital sector F-7.4 area.

It has been reported that the deceased daughter of the Pakistan diplomat has worked as the Ambassador of Pakistan to Kazakhstan and South Korea. Meanwhile, according to the police officials, the Mukadam was murdered after being shot dead. Moreover, in this context, the Islamabad police have arrested a suspect who is reported to be a friend of Mukadam. The man is identified as Zahir Jaffer who was arrested by the police of Islamabad on the crime scene.

The accused is taken under the custody of the police for further investigation. As per the reports, Jaffer is a citizen of the US of Pakistani descent. However, this act has definitely raised a serious question concerning the safety and securities of the diplomats of Pakistan who serves as ambassadors in other countries. Before the killing of Mukadam, a week ago on 16th July 2021, the daughter of Afghanistan’s ambassador to Pakistan, the 26-year old Najibullah Alikhil was hastily kidnapped from the capital of Islamabad and later was brutally tortured.

It was said to be this incident that caused an uproar and uplift between the two major diplomatic nations named, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Moreover, it is not hidden that both the countries looking after the reappearance of the Taliban as both NATO and the US approach the concluding point of their troop pull-out operation. Moreover, Alikhil’s abduction was completely denied by the officials of Pakistan, stating that so far, the police has not discovered any approving proof of the alleged kidnapping of the 26-year-old, Alikhil.

Foreign Office spokesperson of Pakistan, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry has strongly reprimanded this incident and sent condolences to the family of the deceased. He took over his Twitter handle and wrote, “Extremely disheartened by the assassination of the daughter of a senior colleague and former Pakistan Ambassador.” He further wrote, ” Sincere solaces to the deprived family and I wish the criminal of this horrendous offence will be brought to justice.” Moreover, it has been reported the police of Islamabad has filed a case against the accused and an investigation is underway.
