Why Did xQc Banned On Twitch For Streaming Olympic Check Reason And All Details

The popular streaming and gaming platform of the world named, “Twitch” is quite famous among the streamer and video gamer players, as it provides a platform to players to do live audio commentary and other activities related to streaming. However, the users’ often suffer bans or major suspensions for numerous reasons, the prime reason being the violation of community guidelines of Twitch and other rules of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Recently, on 28th July 2021, Wednesday, the famous streamer of Twitch named, “xQc” was forbidden from the platform for 5 hours after his recent live stream.

Felix Lengyel, commonly knowns as xQc in Twitch, is a popular name in the streaming industry and currently has more than 6.6 million followers on Twitch. The players hold great expertise in playing several games including Among Us, GTA 5, Fortnite, Minecraft and much more. As per the initial reports, the streamer was doing live streaming on 28th July, however, at the same time, he was seen watching the Judo match that was taking place in the Olympics, between Arai Chizuru from Japan and Michaela Polleres from Austria.

However, later his channel was cut off in between the live stream for approximately 5 hours. So, it has been concluded that the ban on the streamer was certainly connected to him streaming the Olympic match. Moreover, everyone knows that both NBC and Twitch have partnered together to produce the original live content from the Tokyo Summer Olympics 2020 to the broadcasting service. After the ban, xQc took over his Twitter account and wrote about his latest suspension from Twitch.

The streamer wrote that he thinks he got his channel LIVE DMCA’d. He further continued to write, that he took all the prerequisite precautions and thought it would be okay. However, he did not expect to be banned. The streamer further stated that he could have easily avoided the mistake. He then later apologised to everyone for the inconvenience including his viewers. Lengyel aka xQc sworn that he would be careful next time while doing a LIVE stream and will strictly adhere to the guidelines.

For those who do not know, DMCA is basically a Digital millennium copyright act that is implemented on a streamer when they are discovered streaming another person copyrighted work on their channel. The initial creator of the work can exercise this power and can send Twitch a takedown notification. Well, this is not the first time that the Canadian streamer got banned from Twitch, but as a matter of fact, he got his first suspension in March 2021 for around 3 days.
