You all may know that every year we celebrate the World Senior Citizen Day to make sure various things such as safety, and making raise awareness about the factors and issues affecting older people. Overall, you all can say that today’s generation is moving forward very fast which is good, but maybe we aren’t taking care of our elders who aren’t capable of running with us on our own speed. Here we are talking about the elder’s problem which we are ignoring as a young community.

Now, before we did deep into the new problem we would like to talk about some real facts about the World Senior Citizens Day which is celebrated on the 21st of August every year. It was first proclaimed on 14th of December in the year 1990, by the United Nations General Assembly. The holiday was celebrated for the first time on October 1, 1991. The day is acknowledged to raise awareness about various problems such as deterioration with age and to examine issues that affect their lives such as abuse of elderly people. It is also a day to recognize and appreciate the contributions that older people make to society.

Before we talk about anything, you all should understand that their sacrifices and hard work are the reason why we are, who we are now. You can’t be happy if your elders didn’t work it out and taught how to be happy in various times, I am not just talking about our own relative elders even my list includes all elders you see around the block, or on TV and history books. They all deserve respect, dead or alive doesn’t matter but they always deserve your respect.

Also, you all should know that the history of International Senior Citizens Day comes from the period of 1988. It was officially established by the former president of United States of America i.e. Ronald Reagan. He had signed the 5847 promulgations on August 19, 1988, which manifested August 21 as the National Senior Citizens Day. In the end, You all should respect your elders and help them.
