A 19 year old rape victim, who was forced to marry her rapist, committed suicide by hanging herself on Tuesday because she was unable to bear the incessant physical and mental torture from her in-laws.
As per the reports that the victim girl was raped in the month of October in year 2015, after which her family filed a case against her rapist Anuj in the local police station.
Eventually, She married her rapist earlier in the month of March this year on the intervention of the local khap panchayat. She was also forced to depose in favour of her rapist-turned-husband in court in the month of July this year, thus clearing him of all charges.
But the girl was subjected to severe mental and physical abuse by her in-laws, seeking dowry, to settle the debts that they had incurred fighting the rape case.
The mother of the victim also alleged that the girl was killed by the family of her husband and was later hanged on the ceiling fan.
A case of murder and torture has been filed at the local police station.
