Aligarh: Trainer Aircraft Crashes At Dhanipur Airstrip, Crew Make Narrow Escape

A private aircraft crashed while landing at the Dhanipur airstrip in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. The incident took place at the airstrip on Aligarh – Sikandra Road in outskirts of Aligarh city. The aircraft is said to be registered with VT-AVV.

However, the pilot and six others evacuated immediately before the plane caught fire, escaping with minor injuries. Meanwhile, a relief and rescue team has reached the spot. Reportedly, six people were travelling onboard the private jet while all have been declared safe after the accident.

According to the sources, the aircraft was flying in from Delhi to Aligarh. It crashed during landing attempt when it apparently touched a high tension line. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident.

Meanwhile, the senior officials at the spot refused to comment.
The City Magistrate said, “6 people were on-board the aircraft when it crashed after one of its wheels got stuck in wire during landing. All 6 people are safe with no injuries.”

A few months ago, an aircraft being used for civil aviation training crashed in Pune district, injuring the pilot. The crash happened near Rui village in Indapur taluka. The aircraft belonged to the Carver Aviation Private.
