Oscars 2021: Ceremonies postponed for two months

Oscar’s Important Announcement by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Friday. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Monday that the telecast from the 93rd Academy Awards will be postponed for 2 months until 25 April 2021. The Academy also announced that the Governor Award which is seen to be in decline will be postponed to a specified date at a later time. The December opening of the Academic Museum of Motion Pictures will be included in the month of April along with the Oscar Award. The news also revealed that the organization has extended the eligibility rules for release and it should now have a qualified release date between 1 January 2020 and 28 February 2021.

Lorenzo Sonia, the chief president of the Foreign Press Association of Hollywood, told Variety that the final decision on the date of the Golden Globes had not yet been taken. This will be the fourth time the Oscars will be postponed. On Friday, the Academy announced that a Talks Form is being formed with the Producers Guild of America to develop and implement new representation and inclusion standards for Oscar eligibility by July 30, 2020.

The major dates of the Oscar season are given as follows: –

  • Early voting will begin on 1 February 2021.
  • Early voting to end 5 February 2021 |
  • The Oscar shortlist will be announced on 9 February 2021.
  • Nomination voting will begin on 5 March 2021.
  • Nomination voting will end on 10 March 2021.
  • The Oscar nomination will be announced on 15 March 2021.
  • Oscar nominees lunch will be held on 15 April 2021.
  • Final voting will begin from 15 April 2021.
  • The museum will be started on 17 April 2021.
  • The final voting will end on 20 April 2021.
  • The Oscars will be presented on 25 April 2021.
  • The public museum will be inaugurated on 30 April 2021.

Friends, this is the fourth time that more Oscars had to postpone their dates, now it will be presented soon by 25 April 2021. Bafta, in a domino effect, on Monday announced his 2021 film awards date after the Academy announcement. This date was changed by him. And now it will be held on April 11, 2 weeks before the Oscars.
