Ever since the psychological thriller web series ‘You’ was premiered in the year 2018, it became a huge success. Initially, the series was premiered on 9th September 2018 on Lifetime where it grabbed limited audience in the United States. However, few months later on 26th December 2018, the series was internationally released on Netflix and that was the turning point where “You” gained huge popularity that it was renewed for the second season. ‘You’ Season 3 Release Date
The second season of ‘You’ was earlier exclusively released on Netflix on 26th December 2019. Later on the series was renewed for a 3rd season in January 2020 by Netflix and it is expected to premiere in the year 2021, with Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti both re-enacting their roles.
‘You’ Season 3 Storyline
The first season of this psychological thriller series is based on the 2014 novel by Caroline Kepnes which revolves around a bookstore manager and also a serial killer named Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), who falls for a young woman named Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail). His attraction towards Guinevere Beck became a toxic obsession and eventually he ended up killing her.
In the second season of the series, we saw Joe has moved to Los Angeles to start over with a new identity, leaving behind his tragic past. In Los Angeles, he falls in love with another woman, a local chef is named Love Quinn. His toxic and obsessive pattern started to resurface once again. However, the climax was totally unexpected and shocking as well, in which Love Quinn revealed that she was the one who killed both Delilah (Carmela Zumbado) as well as Candace Stonewas (Ambyr Childers). At the end of season 2, we saw Joe and Love moving in together after finding out Love is pregnant.
Now, the season 3 of ‘You’ might be full of twist and turns. It is expected that Joe and Love might be seen becoming more responsible due to their child. However, the plot will definitely bring some twist that the killing pattern will emerge once again. The main lead Penn Badgley has also indicated that Love may come across some behavioural changes in this season. ‘You’ Season 3 Cast & Crew Members
The first season of ‘You’ casts Penn Badgley, Elizabeth Lail, Luca Padovan, Zach Cherry, and Shay Mitchell in the lead roles. In the second season of the series, Ambyr Childers playing as Candace Stonewas in season one was upgraded to the next season. The new casts for the second season was Victoria Pedretti, James Scully, Jenna Ortega, and Carmela Zumbado.
For the third season, only Penn Badgley playing as Joe Goldberg and Victoria Pedretti playing as Love Quinn are confirmed by the makers. other than these two talented actors, Forty Quinn as James Scully and Will Bettelheim playing as Robin Lord Taylor might join the lead roles in new season.
