The recent episode of the popular TV game show,” Jeopardy!” on Monday was hosted by the guest house, David H. Faber, who is an American Financial Journalist and Market News analyst for the TV cable network, CNBC. Before Faber, Joe Buck was invited by the show as the guest host, however, it has been reported that the creators of the show are planning to fill the vacancy of host permanently this time. From 1984, Candian American game show host, Geroge Alexander Trebek hosted the show, however, since his passing, there has been no permanent host. However, to keep the show entertaining and lively, the show has brought a series of interim hosts.
Faber has previously been a competitor in the show in its all-star version and is now set to take the stage this time. In the year 2012, the ‘Jeopardy’ show brought a celebrity edition, in which many prominent celebs and influential personalities from various industries took part. In fact, the 2012 all-star winner was Faber, who defeated American political analyst, Dana Perino and former professional basketball player of America, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The former celebrity Jeopardy champion, Faber said in an interview that he wanted to establish a rhythm, and he wanted to be good for the contestants.
In an interview to the Jeopardy youtube channel, Faber also acknowledged Alex Trebek as one of the best hosts, and though he did not get much time to spend with Trebek during his time in the show as a contestant, he still stated that Trebek was profound importance. The fans of the TV game show are quite curious about this new guest host, as they are not very much aware of his occupation as well as his achievements. Well, as previously discussed, Faber who was born on 10th March 1964, is currently 57 years old and is a business journalist by profession.
He is one of the acknowledged financial and market news analysts for the American TV business news channel, CNBC and at present is the co-host of Squawk on the Street, which is a morning show of CNBC. Faber initially started his career as an institutional investor in CNBC in 1993 and hosted numerous documentaries, including eBay and Wal-Mart. In the year 2005, Faber received the Peabody Award and also an Alfred I duPont Columbia University Award for ‘The Age of Walmart’ and ‘Broadcast Journaslism’ respectively.
Faber who is called by his colleagues, “The Brain”, was also honoured with the Gerald Loeb Award for ‘House of Cards under the category of Television Enterprise business journalism. He is also an author of 3 books named, The Faber Report, published in 2002, Then the Roof Caved In, published in 2009, and the House of Cards: The Origins of the Collapse, released in 2010. Faber will be hosting the show from the 2nd of August 2021 to the 6th of August 2021.
