There’s another case of exploitation have been recorded where a 29 year old man has been arrested in Jajpur district for allegedly blackmailing his former girlfriend as well as uploading his pictures of their intimate moments on social media, police said on Monday.
Man Arrested for blackmailing former Girlfriend
The accused named Jitendra Kumar Malik of Kalan village was arrested on Sunday on the basis of a complaint that was lodged by the 24 year old woman, said Manoj Kumar Swain, who is Inspector-in-Charge of Kuakhia police station.
The woman also stated in her complaint that the man was in a relationship with her for the last few months.
She said in the complaint that “During the period, Malik had clicked a few intimate photographs featuring me, without my knowledge,”
From quite some time, Malik was threatening the woman in order to upload her photos on the social media soon after she broke up with him recently, Swain said.
The woman had parted their ways in relationship after her refused to marry her, the police officer said.
After that in response to that, the accused then opened a fake Facebook account and uploaded a few obscene pictures of the victim in order to take revenge on her, he said.
But as soon as the photos went viral on the social media, one of her relatives saw them one day and immediately brought it to the notice of the woman’s family, after which a complaint was lodged with the Kuakhia police on Saturday.
Based on the complaint, police then immediately registered a case against Malik under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as the Information Technology (IT) Act.
In the meantime, the actions have been taken by the police and they are now filing the charge sheet and will present him in the court on the given date.
