Bigg Boss Marathi 2 Contestant Abhijit Bichukale Arrested from BB house: Singer Abhijeet Bichukale, one of the most colourful contestants of ‘Marathi Bigg Boss Season 2’, was arrested on Friday morning (June 21) by the Satara crime branch. A non-bailable warrant was issued against Bichukale by a court in Satara for a cheque bounce case.
According to reports, Abhijeet had paid a cheque of Rs. 35,000 has apparently bounced. He has been arrested as per Section 138 of the Negotiable instruments Act.
The Bigg Boss Marathi set from where Bichukale was arrested is at Film City, Goregaon East in Mumbai and the set of Bigg Boss Marathi 2 comes under the jurisdiction of Aarey police station. The police team from Satara, along with personnel from the Aarey Colony Police Station in Goregaon East, reached the Bigg Boss 2 house in the Film City after an arrest warrant was issued by a Satara court against the political activist and nabbed him.
A senior police inspector from Aarey police station said, “A non-bailable warrant was issued by the Satara court against Abhishek Bichukale. He is one of the contestants in Marathi Bigg Boss. Because the set of this show is in Filmcity, when the Satara Crime branch staff came to Mumbai, they asked us to help them in this case.”
“It is an NBW. It is a court order and he is being taken back to Satara and further action against him will be taken there,” the police added.
Though the reality show team and participants were taken aback, there was no opposition to the police action.
Bichukale who is also a politician hails from Satara and is popularly referred to by his friends as ‘Kavi Manache Nete’ (a leader with a poetic heart).
The cheque bouncing case has been going on in the court since 2015, but despite repeated summons, he has reportedly failed to appear before the judge, after which an arrest warrant was issued.
A controversial inmate of the Bigg Boss 2, Bichukale has contested all elections from the municipality to Parliament but unsuccessfully.
In the show, Abhijeet recently had a huge fight with co-contestant Rupali Bhosale during one of the tasks in the show and he even spurted a barrage of abuses at the actress. This too has not gone well with the viewers of the show and there has been a social media backlash against Abhijeet.
