American micro-blogging and social networking site Twitter, temporarily deactivated the official account of ‘Indian Dairy Amul’ over ‘Exit the dragon’ topical. As per the latest reports, Twitter had blocked the official handle of Amul after putting the post against china. However, it has been reactivated again. The post shows ” Amul girl is opposing the dragon that indicates China and there is also a sign of TikTok. Amul urges people to boycott Chinese products. Amul always comes with new and topical that is loved by everybody. The post shows the latest topic of India Narendra Modi’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat and as well Indo-china dispute.
The India major of Amul came to social media and issue a statement says ” On 4th June, Amul’s account was deactivated after topical post ‘Exit The Dragon’. They said that it all happened on 3rd June without any information. On 5th June they urged to get their account activated and now it has been activated”. Their followers were unable to see that post and they came forward and showed their disappointment towards Twitter.
The company said the topical started in 1966, which leaves a huge impact on people. They said that it involves all kind of current issues whether it is lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic, sports events, festivals, first time airing Mahabharat, Ramayan, emergency in India, elections and many others. So, this post was also a part of the same. They also claimed that they publish and create it without having a biased opinion.
Amul asked the explanation to deactivate their account. On this, Twitter said, It was deactivated due to the safety issue of Amul, not for the content that was published. There can be seen another rise in anti-Chinese activities. The entire world is suffering from the coronavirus pandemic and it is being believed that it came from China.
