“Baahubali” actor Prabhas has become one of the latest Telugu stars to donate for the cause of fighting against the coronavirus pandemic. The actor on Thursday donated Rs 4 crore for the cause. Of this, Rs 3 crore has been given to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, while Rs 50 lakh each go to the Chief Minister Relief Funds of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

After Telugu superstars Pawan Kalyan, Ram Charan, Chiranjeevi, and Mahesh Babu, the ‘Baahubali’ star Prabhas is the latest actor who has donated for the cause. Fans of the actor have been praising him for his charitable act on social media. Actor Nithiin was the first person from the industry to announce that he would donate Rs 10 lakh each to both governments.

Ram Charan said that he was inspired by his uncle Pawan Kalyan and announced a sum of Rs 70 lakh to fight the novel coronavirus pandemic. He wrote, “Hope this tweet finds you in good health. At this hour of crisis, inspired by @PawanKalyan garu, I want to do my bit by contributing to aid the laudable efforts of our governments… Hope you all are staying safe at home! @TelanganaCMO @AndhraPradeshCM @PMOIndia @KTRTRS (sic).”
Prabhas went into self-quarantine recently after he returned from Georgia, where he was shooting for his upcoming film, tentatively titled ‘Prabhas 20’. Coronavirus has become a worldwide scare for the whole world. Most of the population is self quarantined due to the pandemic. Streets in India normally bustling with people and traffic stayed empty Wednesday as the country of 1.3 billion people endured the first day of a national lockdown brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the new measure on Tuesday, saying that people would have to remain in their homes for the next 21 days with only essential services remaining open. The move is designed to curb the virus’s spread and keep the country’s already-fragile health system from buckling under a rush of critically ill patients. The government is appealing to the nation to not go outside, stay safe and healthy at their homes.
