The very popular and highly anticipated American award show is all set to glam up the night with popular celebrities’ presence and performances. Since its inception in 2001, this award show is hosted every year that brings high level of entertainment in its every new edition. The BET Awards is hosted in order to celebrate the African Americans personalities who have made their names in acting, music, sports, and several other entertainment fields from the past years.
This year, the audience who wanted to attend this award ceremony was asked for their covid-19 vaccination certificate during the registration process. So, only the people who are successfully vaccinated are allowed to attend the show and to watch it live. This time, the well-known American actress Taraji P. Henson will host this award ceremony. Also, in the BET Awards 21st edition popular musician and actress Queen Latifah is going to be honoured in the event and will be presented the Lifetime Achievement Award.
BET Awards 2021: Host, Performers & Nominees
On June 14, it was announced that the BET Awards 2021 is going to be hosted by Taraji P. Henson and this will be the first time that this popular American actress is going to host this award show. The nominees for the same event were announced on 27th May 2021. In this BET Awards 21st edition, DaBaby and Megan Thee Stallion have secured their nomination in total of seven categories each. In the meantime, Cardi B and Drake, have five nominations each.
The category for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist includes popular artists and those are Beyonce, Jhene Aiko, Summer Walker, Jazmine Sullivan, SZA, H.E.R. On the other hand, the male artists nomination for the same category consist of Anderson Paak, The Weeknd, Giveon, Chris Brown, 6Lack, and Tank.
The list of performers who will take part in the BET Awards 2021 includes Andra Day, Megan Thee Stallion, Jazmine Sullivan, City Girls, DaBaby, DJ Khaled, H.E.R., Rapsody, Roddy Ricch, Lil Nas X and more.
BET Awards 2021: When & How to Watch?
This year, the BET Awards 2021 is scheduled to host the 21st edition of this award ceremony which originally started back in 2001. It is going to be hosted on 27th June 2021, Sunday and will begin at 8:00 PM ET and will conclude at 11:30 PM ET.
In order to watch the new edition of BET Awards this Sunday, the viewers can watch it on its original television channel i.e. BET, starting at 8:00 PM ET. Other than this, the award show is going to be live streamed other original networks like BET Her, MTV, VH1 MTV2, TVLand, and Logo on June 27.
