Netflix The Ballad of Buster Scruggs Review & Ratings: Western work from the Coens, released: Other than Quentin Tarantino, no any other filmmaker has done more for the preserving of the Western concept except the Coen Brothers. Many of the filmmakers tried hard but no one matched the concept of both, Quentin and Coen Brothers. The way the Coens brings out the touch of western in their movies, can’t be seen in other filmmaker movie.
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs Review & Ratings
Their works shows their love for the Old West even if their film is not based on western, still you can find elements of Old West in their movies. Movies such as Blood Simple or Fargo or O Brother were hugely loved by the audiences as well as critics for presenting the western element so beautifully. The simplicity of life back at that time, and the simple ethics and principles of the characters, is intense in each frame of their movies. Their work possibly shows their attempt to express this affection of old west to the audience that is increasingly losing interest in this kind of genre.
The Coen Brothers are again came up with their another western style work on Netflix. Their latest film “The Ballad of Buster Scruggs” is an American western anthology film. The film was initially planned as an anthology series on Netflix but the Coens decided to edit the series into a feature film. This latest work of Coen Brothers is basically a collection of six tales from the American Borderline which is offered as an old book with the title The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. The Coen brothers with their film, ‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs’, didn’t disappoint us with its unique six tales of fierceness and revenge, sarcasm and reality, survival and disloyalty from the American Frontline. It begins with the Buster Scruggs an infamous criminal with an adventure traveling through a sunny Western landscape in a clean, white Roy Rogers cowboy getup and singing to the audience, which is an opening of the film. Buster Scruggs who just can’t look for a break in his life no matter where ever he goes because everybody he meets wants to kill him.
This is like a surprise experimental film from one of your favourite directors. Though it doesn’t bring out such perfection like Coen brothers brings out in O Brother or Where Art Though? But still the story is pleasing which will bring out surprise afterwards and the storytelling was flexible. The film does have some great moments from different characters in the movie.
The concluding part, though, can either be viewed as an intellectual summary of everything that has come before, or a reprise. Undoubtedly, this kind of artistic freedom is unusual to find these days.
