But since the films started being released on the OTT platform, the OTT platform started expanding. According to reports, it has also been found that the resolution of videos from the OTT platform remained constant, reducing data usage by up to 25% in Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime Video.
Since people started living in the house, that’s why people found it convenient. This was reduced by 25% because people started living at home at that time due to Kovid-19. India was witnessing an increase of about 15% in the volume of Internet service provider daily traffic and data consumption. According to reports, it has also been learned that the Cellular Operators Association of India sent a letter to the federal government requesting that Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and all other streaming platforms to reduce the data.
So that there is less data consumption. It has been learned from the news that bitrate is also seen indicating better quality. After the request from the government, now the OTT platform has also started reducing the data consumption that streaming used on its platform. As you all know lockdown is also being issued in different ways across every country and hence OTT platforms are also being urged to gradually restore their price levels bitrate.
But it has also been said that this thing has not been decided yet whether the similarity has returned in the Amazon Prime video as well. Just like the situation in which Amazon Prime Video used to be, is Amazon Prime Video now in the same condition. No such requirement was stated in India to reduce bitrate as no significant increase in WiFi usage has been observed in India.
