Ramanand Sagar the great director who has worked on so many films including Zindagi, Arzoo, Ankhen, Geet, Romance, Bagawat, Lalkaar and many TV serials including Sai Baba, Krishna, Luv Kush, Vikram Betaal but Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan has smashed all the records. It was praised by millions of people. It was telecasted before three decades and still, the characters of the show are getting fame. The magic of the Ramayan that was featured 33 years back is still alive in the heart of public and the image of the characters of Ramayan is still alive they are worshipped as God by the people. Doordarshan has decided to re-run the series on public demand. The re-run started on last Saturday amid the 21 days nationwide lockdown. According to the latest reports, in the last weekend, Ramayan gathered 170 Million viewers.
Doordarshan has taken the responsibility to entertain people by broadcasting the old classics, who are keeping themselves inside the house. To deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, mythological series Ramayan and Mahabharat of the 80s and 90s are re telecasted. Ramanand Sagar serial became the highest watched serial in the Hindi general entertainment space. Not only in the rural area even in urban areas also it has become the most-watched serial. According to the latest reports, Ramayan gathered a total of 28.7 million impressions in the four episodes. Ramayan is a historical drama epic television series which was aired during 1987-1988. It was written and directed by Ramanand Sagar.
The role of Ram was performed by Arun Govil, Deepika Chikhalia played the role of Sita, Lakshaman is played by Sunil Lahiri, late actor Dara Singh played the role of Hanuman and the powerful role of Ravan was played by Arvind Trivedi. It also stars late Mulraj Rajda, late Lalita Pawar, Sameer Rajda, late Vijay Arora, and Sanjay Jog. As re-run of the show, the morning schedule for the Indian families has changed.
