The Villain is a Kannada language action-drama film, written and directed by Prem and produced by C.R. Manohar. The two super stars of Kannada movies ‘Dr Shiva Rajkuumar’ and ‘Sudeep’ are sharing screen space also Amy Jakson is in the lead role, she is making her debut in Kannada film Industry. Other stars in this movie are Srikanth, Mithun Chakraborty and Sruthi Hariharan. Music was given by Arjun Janya. The movie started its entry in box office on a great note. The movie was released over 1000 screens worldwide and 500 screens in the Karnataka alone. The movie also has special morning shows in Bengaluru, and places like Hospet, there were shows at 12 am. People were so crazy for the film that increase in prices of tickets doesn’t affect them, and they made a huge advance booking earlier. The average price for the ticket was Rs 350 to Rs 400.
The increase in ticket price came as a bonus for the film as the movie grossed over 7 crore in Karnataka on its opening day while 4.5 crore from other parts of the state and 12 crore worldwide.
The movie highlights the reality that in spite of ‘Ravana’ being a person with obstructive shade, but he also got some positive characteristic of a good person which cannot be ignored. Other than that you can also see a small romantic episode of hero heroine in the movie with well-choreographed actions, mother sentiments and a bunch of songs which is very common in commercial cinema.

However, the movie is getting mix response from the public as well as from critics too, some of the critics are even saying that the screenplay is a bit illogical and the biggest drawback of the movie is ‘duration time’ but the die-hard fans are leaving no limits to make the movie super hit.

Even o its 3rd day of release the movie is still getting love from their fans by earning 5 crore itself in Karnataka box office and 9 crore worldwide.
Fans are also enjoying the story which revolves around a smuggler of weapons Kisar Ram (Kiccha Sudeep) who wants to rule the underworld. On the other side Ramappa (Shivaraj Kumar) is also chasing Kisar Ram.
Apart from the story, one of the biggest highlight of the film is Shivraj and Sudeep Performance, as for the first time they are sharing the same screen and have huge fan following. Dialogues of the movie are also pleasant and the Shivraj kumar song with six actresses is a treat for audiences.

On its 4th day of release the movie is still on the track making lots of box office collection. In Karnataka itself the movie made 6 crore in Karnataka box office and 9.50 crore worldwide.
