The hashtag to Ban TikTok is trending on social media. Everything started on the internet with Faizal Siddiqui‘s video that was supporting the acid attack on girls after being rejected. Rekha Sharma, Chairperson of NCW, issued a complaint letter against Faizal Siddiqui to DGP of Maharashtra to take strict action against Faizal. She urged the government of India to ban the TikTok from India and also demanded to delete Faizal’s account ASAP. If we tell you that the continuation of YouTube vs TikTok started when Faizal’s brother Amir Siddiqui, who is also a TikTok creator and has a huge fan following, uploaded a long video on TikTok where he was saying how TikTok is better than YouTube. In the video, he blamed YouTubers to pirate TikTokers content he also mentioned some popular TikTokers’ names including Ajey Nagar notable as CarryMinati. In response to it, Carry made a video roasting TikTokers titled YouTube vs TikTok- The End. Unfortunately, the video was deleted by the official of YouTube and claimed that it was out of their terms and condition. In support of CarryMinati, many YouTubers came forward and supported him, they uninstalled TikTok from their phone and asking people to do the same.
The trend of ban TikTok reached to its peak when BJP leader Tejinder Singh and NWC chairperson also came in favour of Banning TikTok because it is creating disturbance and uncertainty in the society. TikTok creators are supporting Animal violence, girls rape, acid attack, and also religion abuse through their videos that can be proved perilous for our society.
Many TikTok users are coming ahead and demanding a ban on TikTok. Suddenly TikTok witnessed a huge drop in a rating within a week. Initially, the rating of TikTok was 4.6, on 14th May 2020 it dropped to 4.5, on 18th May it was 1.3 and as of now it has been tumbled down to 1.2 stars while TikTok lite is eating the dust with 1.1 ratings. It is a sudden fall in one of the most loved applications on Google play store. 200 Million users of TikTok were in India and it was downloaded by 2 Billion users worldwide.
Indians showed that if they can lift someone up, then for their civilized survival do not delay in toppling. Twitter is witnessing the eruption of memes aiming TikTok to be banned from the country, they are requesting people to downgrade the application.
