West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) has recently announced the result of West Bengal State Eligibility Test, SET 2018. The result is being available at the website of WBCSC for a particular time period, so candidates are advised to check or download their result as soon as possible after receiving or getting the notification.

All the candidates who have appeared for the examination can check and download their result of SET 2018 examination from the official website of WBCSC at wbcsconline.in.

The official notification released on the website mentions, “All the candidates of SET – 2018 examination are requested to visit the website www.wbcsconline.in through login their Registration No. and Password.”

The aspirant who has cleared the WB SET examination is now qualified for the posts of Assistant Professor of any colleges and University of the state.

Steps to download the result of WB SET 2018

Step 1: Firstly, visit the official website of WBCSC at wbcsconline.in

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link which reads ‘SET 2018 Result’.

Step 3: Candidate will then be redirected to a login based window where your credentials will be asked such as your register number and password in order to log in.

Step 4: Fill your details correctly and click on submit to complete the process and to log in

Step 5: Results of WB SET will be displayed on the screen

Step 6: Save or Download the result of WB SET 2018

Step 7: Candidate should take a printout of it for future references.

West Bengal SET 2018: Details

This WB SET 2018 exam was held on 2 December 2018. There was one shift for the examination that is in the morning from 9 am to 1 pm.

Aspirants who applied for the examination in December possibly will get their result from the official website of West Bengal State Eligibility Test (SET).

About West Bengal State Eligibility Test

The WBCSC was formed in 1979 under an Act passed in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.

The Government of West Bengal has selected the West Bengal College Service Commission as the “State Agency” for conducting the State Eligibility Test (SET) for Lectureship in Universities and Colleges of the state.

The key function of WBCSC is to choose eligible Assistant Professors, Librarians, and Principals to all the Government assisted Colleges in West Bengal which is nearly about 450 in numbers, as well as to held the State Eligibility Test. The Act of 1979 was reviewed in 2012 and 2017.

The commission has made the approval for the Posts of Principal in Govt.-aided Colleges in nearly about two hundred fifty (250) in last 5 years. Also, in last 5 years almost five thousand (5000) aspirants have been suggested for Assistant Professors & Librarians in different Govt.-aided Colleges.

Since the year 1994 the West Bengal College Service Commission has held the University Grants Commission (UGC) attributed State Eligibility Test (SET) Examination on behalf of the West Bengal Government. In the year 2017, UGC ascribed the WBCSC for the conducting of three SET(s) for the years 2017 and 2018 as well as year 2019.
