India Test squad for New Zealand series; Virat Kohli captain, Stuart Binny & Shardul Thakur dropped

The BCCI announced the 15 men Test Squad for the series against the New Zealand. The Indian Test squad will be led by regular skipper Viral Kohli and there were few omissions in the squad too.

The selection committee of BCCI has omitted Stuart Binny and Shardul Thakur from the team. This 15 men team consist of three openers in the form of KL Rahul, Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan. Meanwhile, it will still be a headache for the think tank of Indian Cricket team to select two openers ou of these three.

The out of form batsman Rohit Sharma also managed to find a place in the squad despite his poor form in Test Cricket in recent times. The likes of Cheteswar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane with Kohli will be the mantle for the middle order for the Indian team.

The all-rounder’s shoes will be filled by R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Wriddhiman Saha. Ashwin has impressed everyone with his two centuries in the West Indies series and Saha also reached his maiden Test hundred.

Ishant Sharma, along with Mohammad Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav will swing the red cherry. The three spinners have been included to tackle the Kiwi batsman in the form of Amit Mishra, Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin.

Meanwhile, India will play the first test match against Kane Williamson lead side on September 22, 2016, at Green Park, Kanpur and next three test matches will be played on September 30 in Kolkata and in Indore on October 8.
