Tom Hanks’ most awaited World War 2 based film “Greyhound” will release directly on the Apple TV Plus. The movie is taking the OTT route following the other big releases. The news came out today and the reason is known by everybody, COVID-19. The film Greyhound is one of the most awaited war movies of the year and it now it is finally releasing on the OTT network for sure. The movie was supposed to release theatrically on 12th June 2020.

The movie itself is based on the 1955 novel The Good Shepherd by C. S. Forester. The film is featuring Stephen Graham, Rob Morgan, and Elisabeth Shue in the main leading roles. The film is written by Tom Hanks and it is also featuring him in the leading role. The storyline of the movie is based on the US Navy Commander and his first war-time assignment. The story takes place in 1942 during the Battle of the Atlantic. The movie is interesting and it was expected to release on Father’s Day.

Also, the fact is that this one will be the biggest feature film commitment made by Apple to premiere on Apple TV+. The Apple streaming platform is making its own impact on the market and with this release they will take the aggressive move. Tom Hank was suffering from Coronavirus too. After that we have seen that he and wife Rita Wilson were quarantined. There is no official release of the movie on the OTT platform but we are expecting it to be released soon.

Apple is making its big move with this big release. This whole news is big and it is a really surprising one for us. Reports are suggesting that Apple to the right of the movie within a $70 million dollar range. Aaron Schneider who has done the direction work in the movie seems interested in the idea. The Apple TV+ has some great deals in hand with Beastie Boys Story, the docus Dads, The Sundance, On the Rocks, Rashida Jones, and many other releases.
