ESPN Offer $3M To Maria Taylor Amid Rachel Nichols Not Let Her Finish NBA Finals

Recently, an audio clip of the famous American sports broadcaster, anchor, and TV host for ESPN, Rachel Nichlos surfaced on social media, in which the former one was seen making some racist and offensive remarks on her co-host, Maria Taylor. After which the sports networks have decided to make Nichlos a sideline reporter for the current season finals of the NBA. Moreover, it has been reported that it is quite uncertain whether Taylor will still continue to work for ESPN amid all this scandal.

Moreover, the contract of the Taylor with the sports channel is about to end in two weeks and if the reports are to be believed, then it has been said that the channel has offered the TV host a deal worth $3 million. However, Nichols’s has clarified on several occasions that she was not saying anything to her fellow host and in fact, on the other side, she has questioned the decision of the ESPN of hiring Taylor to host the finals of the National Basketball Association (ASA) previous year.

In the audio clip, Nichols was seen talking to Adam Mendesohan and Rich Paul and was comparing that if the channel wants to give Taylor more things to do just because they are feeling pressure about adding more diversity in their panel, she has no problem with that, however, she would not allow at any cost to give something that she deserves to Taylor. In addition, though Nichlos never mentioned the name of Taylor in her conversation, it is quite evident that she is talking about her fellow co-host, Maria Taylor.

At present Emmy nominated reporter of NBA named, “Malika Andrews” has replaced Nichlos. Moreover, talking about the $3 million deal offered by ESPN to Taylor, it has been stated that this deal is in fact three times more than the actual current contract of $1 million. Also, the deal is not just about money, the deal would bring more opportunities and roles to the plate of Taylor.

Taylor is presently hosting the NBA finals and also working as a host as well as a sideline journalist for NCAA Women’s Tournament and college football national championship. Also as per the reports, Taylor has got an offer from Amazon and NBC as well and the expiration date of her contract is ESPN is reported to be 20th July 2021.
