The America-based motor manufacturing company, Ford motors have unveiled its first electric pick-up truck. Maybe, the company has taken its commitment too seriously and decided to launch the first electric lighting pickup truck, Ford F-150 Lightning. The company turned its best-selling pickup truck vehicle into a fully electric vehicle by launching the F-150 in the US. It is the first model of the company that comes with EV support and through this, the company unveiled the EV strategy for the forthcoming generation. The electric truck was revealed in Dearborn, Michigan, last Wednesday.
The CEO of Ford said,” It looks like a donkey but tows like a beast”. As per the company information, around $22 billion has been invested in electric vehicles by the company. The vehicle is mainly made for commercial customers and who wants to use this vehicle for their commercial purposes, will be the best option for them. However, the companies built just 2 percent of the total vehicle in the US and Ford is planning to improve their shares price by launching F-150. Also, the company has decided the affordable price for the Ford F-150 to attract the customer towards the model and it will be available around $40,000 (roughly Rs. 30 Lakh).
Along with this, the design of the EV is similar to the gasoline version but the company provided new headlights in it. The marketing manager of the Ford, Jasen Turnbull released a statement related to F-150 and said,” Whatever we did, we maintained everything. We need some trucks and then, we will improve the development including the driving experience and capabilities of the model.
While the impressive and amazing feature in the F-150 is the boot space in the truck and it could be possible because of the combustion engine in the model. Also, there is 400-liter luggage space and also, some available around the areas of the model. In the F-150 truck, the 12-inch of digital display cluster and 12-inch of infotainment display have fitted. The upgraded version will be capable to hold the 15.5-inch vertical screen in the SYNC4A system of the mode.
The Ford F-150 will come with dual electric motors where one will be used for each axle and will have a 563 horsepower that produced 1.050 Nm of torque peak and that will make the most powerful F-150 truck of all time. In just 4-seconds, the F-150 will have a pickup power from 0 to 100 kilometers/h.
The company provided the Lithium-Ion battery pack that has an estimated range from 115 to 150KW/H. Also, the company claims that the supercharger of the vehicle can charge the F-150 for around 87 km in the charging of 10 minutes and the 15 to 80% charge can be done in just 41 to 45 minutes. You can drive the vehicle about 230 to 300 miles on a single charge but it all depend on the battery.
