Suzuki Jimny, from the very popular automotive manufacturer Maruti Suzuki, is the highly-awaited SUVs in India. Since 2020, when this upcoming SUV model got unveiled in Auto Expo that year, it seized the attention of many buyers, particularly from the Indian market. But, as of now the official launch date of LWB Jimny has been not confirmed by the Maruti Suzuki, however a new report speculate that it’s launch may happen next year.
If the rumours or reports are to be believed, the company is going to launch Suzuki Jimny in a five door LWB avatar in the Indian market, where the demand for this upcoming SUV is already high and is also increasing gradually. So far, Maruti Suzuki has been making frequent statements constantly about Jimny being under consideration, but the final details are still left to be settled.
Currently, Suzuki has been already testing the Jimny’s Long Wheelbase version in the foreign countries. According to a recent media report, Suzuki is likely to be focusing their attention more on expanding the 3-door Jimny version supply for the year 2021. For this, the company has already started producing the Jimny for export markets in India. The long wheelbase version of Jimny has already been spotted while doing the test runs.
The 5-door Jimny is all set to be getting its global debut in the year 2022. It is highly anticipated that the same version of Jimny is going to be unveiled next year in early 2022, whereas the launch of 5-door Jimny is highly expected to take place in July 2022.
In addition to that, the long wheelbase version of Jimny has already been spotted while doing the test runs. Back then, when Maruti Suzuki unveiled this model at the event of Auto Expo in February 2020, the company stated that this iconic off-roader is based on the popular SUV model i.e. Gypsy SUV, which at that time grabbed huge attention from the Indian customers.
However, they didn’t reveal anything about its launch in the Indian market, but many are speculating that the launch may be held in India, most probably with longer wheelbase. This is going to allow the carmaker to add two doors for making the model more spacious as well as practical for the buyers.
It has been also claimed by some reports that the five-door turbocharged Jimny is going to have a price tag more than the conventional three as well as five-door versions. The launch is also expected to happen next year in 2022.
