The Instagram Rich List for Bollywood stars

Hopper HQ’s 4th annual Instagram Rich List came out and it announced the Instagram earnings of celebrities all over the globe and their respective positions as per these criteria. The list gained its prominence ever since social media platforms became a major channel for marketing and advertising. Brands welcomed this changing strategy and filled the celebrities’ pockets to endorse their brand names.

While Dwayne Johnson dethroned Kylie Jenner from her first position by amassing $1,015,000 per post. The top five on the list included Cristiano Ronaldo, Kim Kadarshian, and Ariana Grande in third, fourth, and fifth positions respectively.

Priyanka Chopra stole the limelight by being the only Bollywood celebrity to be a part of it. She stood in the 28th position. Other than PeeCee, Virat Kohli remains the only Indian to join the top 50 of the international rich list based purely on the stars’ earnings from Instagram alone. He claimed the 26th position.

The ‘Desi girl’s’ earnings do not come as a surprise as she is a global star too and attained high levels of popularity, especially after her marriage with Nick Jonas. This leaves the question about how well are other Bollywood stars faring on Instagram. Here’s a list compiled by Betway Casino.

Even though the others did not make it to the coveted HQ list, a good part of their total earnings come from brand endorsements and advertisements, and Instagram is a huge part of it too.

The leading ladies of Bollywood seems to be doing much better than the male members on the social media platform according to what their number of followers and Instagram earnings indicate.

Priyanka Chopra’s estimated Instagram income of Rs 13,569,102 is closely followed by Deepika Padukone earning around Rs. 12,447,711 and then the much younger Alia Bhatt touching Rs. 12,268,917.

Even though they hold the second and third positions, their engagement rate of 3.75% and 5.11% respectively, actually surpasses Chopra’s 2.29%. Although PeeCee’s follower count is 53,700,000, there is not a lot of difference between Deepika Padukone’s Alia Bhatt’s total number of followers as they have 49,100,000 and 48,500,000 followers respectively.

Shraddha Kapoor’s estimated Instagram earnings of Rs. 11,891,513 allowed her to steal the fourth position while Jacqueline Fernandez made it to the top five by earning around Rs. 10,609,999.

At the sixth position, the male presence takes over as Akshay Kumar with Rs. 10,242,122 in his Instagram pocket leads the Instagram earnings among Bollywood’s male stars. This does not come as a surprise since his follower count is 40,500,000 followers, more than most of his male contemporaries.

The ladies take over the rest of the top 10 again as Neha Kakkar follows Akshay Kumar with Rs 9,843,073 as her estimated Instagram earnings. This is considerably huge as Kakkar’s net worth do not imitate the other Bollywood stars on this list as it stands at Rs 24 crores.

Popular names like Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, and Sunny Leone completes the top 10 Bollywood celebs list with handsome Instagram earnings as provided in the Betley infographic below.

The leading male Bollywood stars

Although the Khans have a higher net worth than most Bollywood celebrities, their social media presence is not strong enough to uproot the others.

The King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan has a net worth of Rs 4200 crores. But, he has amassed only  21,800,000 followers, which helped him earn Rs 5,523,882 via Instagram and the sixth position on the list of top 10 Bollywood male celebrities based on their Instagram earnings. However, many reports claim that television and print advertisements are the channels that brands focus on when they choose King Khan to endorse them.

This list of male Bollywood stars as per their estimated Instagram income showcase Salman Khan who earned Rs 8,535,342 in second place after Akshay Kumar’s top position. Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, and Shahid Kapoor are placed at third, fourth, and fifth positions.

The likes of John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Farhan Akthar, and Arjun Rampal completes the top 10. This clearly indicates that the stars’ success on Instagram need not rely on their performance at the box office, although Instagram comes in handy for many movie stars when promoting their flicks too.
